That has to be the most ridiculous statement I've ever seen.

Why, oh WHY do so many people assume that the sex life of the adults in the house is the business of the children?

As far as I know, Reason has a female mother and a male father. Their orientation didn't "wear off" on him.

Ok, why shouldn't gay couples be allowed to adopt children? What makes them unfit to parent? If you are concerned about them 'turning the kid gay', that is baseless drivel.

You should be able to adopt a child based on your parenting skills and how well you can take care of the needs of the child. Sexual preference has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Okay, I'll play devil's advocate. One reason might be that other children might taunt or shun the children who have "two mommies/daddies". Kids can be cruel, and all other things being equal, a child will be better off in a conventional family. It may not be right, but it is true.

AL, I think it would depend on where one lives. A responsible same sex couple in this neighborhood wouldn't get a second glance.

I STRESS this is only a personal opinion and I can be swayed with quality debate.
What Aur said is completly relevant, to go further having witnessed, the effects of bullying in formative years, It can be devastating.
Also I have always considered the Mother baby/ Child bond to be enormously important.

where did the first gay people come from, if the orientation of the parents will influence the child's preference?
